Sofa Sleeping

By Noel Spencer

Jesse sleeps on sofa
With late night movie
Flickering on face
Shadows play
Heavy breathing
Beautiful bigness
In my heart

It is becoming more difficult for Jesse to move. Sometimes, she stays out of the bed for long runs. She sleeps on the sofa for two or three nights at a time because it is so difficult for her to walk back to the bedroom. I enjoy when she stays in the living room because that means we are sort of in the same room. Only an arch separates our living room and kitchen. She can watch me cook, and I can pop over to her on the sofa to have her taste dishes as I make them. It is kind of perfect.

This is not going to last much longer. Pretty soon she will go back into bed, and she will stay in the bedroom. I thought about putting a little hot plate in the bedroom, but that seems a little over the top. It will probably be good for us to have some space from each other. Usually, I sleep next to Jesse on a cot, or I’ll crash on the twin bed in my office. It just depends on how much work I have to do. Often, when I’m editing or I’ve got a job, it is just easier to sleep where I’m working.

Preparations

By Noel Spencer

It’s a lot of work getting married. I thought since it would just be my brother and Jesse’s sister attending it would be a piece of cake, but it’s turning out to be a lot of running round. Jesse can help with some things around the house, but when it comes to executing errands around town, I’m doing most of that, including renting a car to pick up Jesse’s sister at the airport. She doesn’t get that people take cabs in NYC, so we’ve got to pick her up in a rental. It’s just one more thing.

I also must pick up Jesse’s dress from the cleaners. They are doing the alterations. I thought I could do it. I can sew a little, but this is special. I want it done right. The seamstress is over on Metropolitan Avenue. She is a Indian woman, and she’s done a great job in the past with minor alterations. We ordered Jesse’s dress online, and it is gorgeous. It just needs to be bigger. When I told the woman doing the alterations we want it to be let out, she tried to explain to me that I must have it wrong. All brides want to have their dress taken IN.

After much back and forth about whether I was right or wrong, she told me it would cost more for letting it out. She suggested it was about the extra fabric. I almost argued with her on this. Why does it cost more for someone to make something bigger than smaller? It is as if she is penalizing us for Jesse being fat. Ultimately, after speaking with some friends, they assured me that extra fabric would cost more.

All of this is to say: I picked up Jesse’s dress today! She tried it on, and she looks stunning. Even though the woman altered it to be bigger, I had her make it slightly smaller than Jesse’s size. It’s super tight, and her voluptuous, glorious body shows in all its glory. She’s beautiful, sumptuous, and classic all at once.

Jesse watches this show Say Yes to the Dress all the time. Her favorite part is when women get all weepy over their dresses. Gets her every time. She says they know when they put it on.
When Jesse tried on that dress…

God, let me tell you…she was perfection. The look on her face was priceless. And the tears flowed…and flowed.

I can’t wait for Saturday.

My First Time

By Jesse Marie Scott

Okay, it’s not what you think. It’s my first blog entry! It’s so exciting. I’ve read blogs for years, but I never figured I’d write one. I didn’t think I had anything to write about. People who write blogs always seem like an expert on something. I never felt like an expert on anything. But when me and Noel talked about starting a blog, Noel made a great point: I’m an expert on gaining weight. LOL! Since Noel’s an expert on helping people gain weight, this seemed like a natural progression.

I’ve been gaining weight since I can remember. Of course, I dieted, so during those times I’d lose some weight. I’ve tried so many diets: NutriSystem, Atkins, The Cabbage Soup Diet, The Watermelon Diet, Cyberdiet, LA Diet, Diet Center, Jenny Craig, Scarsdale, Zone and Tops. But they’re all the same: lose 15 pounds, gain twenty. Each diet, I’d end up heavier than when I started.

One day, I discovered men who like fat women. They didn’t want thin girls living on Diet Coke and lettuce. These men want big, voluptuous, beautiful ladies who have an appetite to boot! I knew this was my destiny.

From that point on, I haven’t looked back.
